- The Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church records (1882-1998) contain correspondence, membership records, minute books, ministry council materials, baptismal records, building records, meeting materials, programs, articles, publications, directories, yearbooks, treasurer's reports, weekly offering receipts, service books, materials relating to the Lutheran women's organizations, and other church records. In 1848, several Swedish families started the Augusta Synod, the original governing body of the Zion Lutheran Church in eastern Iowa. In 1882 pioneers in Salt Lake City, Utah, started the Zion Lutheran Church, which is now known as the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.
