Robert Aubrey Miller (1854-1941) graduated from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon in 1878, and began a law practice in Jacksonville, Oregon, served in the Oregon House of Representatives, and was as an aide to Governor Sylvester Pennoyer. The collection contains correspondence, letterpress volumes, a diary, proceedings of the Jacksonville District Pomona Grange (1876-1879), a Willamette University memorandum book, scrapbooks of clippings, speeches, Southern Oregon District Fair material, books of poems, excerpts from The Hesperian, a literary magazine edited by Miller, and photographs.

Robert Aubrey Miller (1854-1941) graduated from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon in 1878, began a law practice in Jacksonville, Oregon, served in the Oregon House of Representatives from district 19, and as an aide to Governor Sylvester Pennoyer. He later moved to Oregon City and Portland, Oregon. He was active in politics, a Democrat, president of the Willamette Valley Chautauqua Association, member of the Jacksonville District Pomona Grange, and frequently addressed pioneer gatherings.

The collection contains correspondence, letterpress volumes, diary, proceedings of the Jacksonville District Pomona Grange (1876-1879), a Willamette University memorandum book, scrapbooks of clippings, speeches, material on the Southern Oregon District Fair (1890), books of poems, excerpts from The Hesperian, a literary magazine edited by Miller, and photographs.

Correspondence (about 300 letters) consists of incoming letters, 1877-1939, including letters from Sylvester Pennoyer, Eva E. Dye, George E. Chamberlain, the Bryan State Committee (W. E. Burke), the Democratic State Central Committee, and the Willamette Valley Chautauqua Association.

The ten letterpress volumes (1887-1902) contain mostly attorney business and correspondence.

The diary is titled, "Journal of a trip to the cave in Josephine County, August 13-19, 1878."

Photographs (PH108) include tinytypes, cartes de viste, prints, cabinets and boudoirs of Robert Miller, family and friends, and other Oregonians.
