Scope and Content: Tape recorded interview conducted by Francis Posner and Meta Kaplan on 6 Mar 1975.
Mrs. Greengard discusses the years 1895-1975 and describes the activities of her mother, Merle Degginger, who was the first president of the Council of Jewish Women. She also discusses Hannah Schwartz, the first worker in the Settlement House, (Mrs.) S. M. Blumauer, a member of the Portland Council of Jewish Women who helped organize the Seattle Section of CJW, and Rabbi Hecht and others active in the organization.

Scope and Content: Correspondence, diary, genealogy, scrapbook, clippings.
A few old family letters, written mostly in the 1890s. A copy of the "Diary" of Simon Degginer is a 41 page account written in Seattle in 1899, and not a day-by-day journal, which tells of his youth in Germany, early travels in Europe and immigration to Seattle. Copies of a scrapbook contain clippings regarding early Jewish life in Seattle.

Scope and Content: Correspondence, transcribed diary of Simon Degginger, legal document, genealogy, book, certificates, clippings, scrapbook, memorabilia.
Bulk of contents was generated by or documents Degginger family members, including the book "Loose Him And Let Him Go" written by S. (Simon) Degginger and published in 1901. The diary, which is also by Simon Degginger, is best described as a combination reminiscence and travel journal.
