Historical Note
Around 1995, Jewish residents on Whidbey Island began to meet at the home of Mike and Gail Saran. The gatherings turned into an organization that aimed to be the "all-inclusive Jewish organization and synagogue of Whidbey Island" (The Guide to Jewish Washington, 2005-2006). The group was incorporated as a non-profit in 2004. The Community provided holiday and Shabbat services led by Rabbi Charna Klein and other community activities and educational services such as Hebrew reading lessons and Passover Seders.
