The annual reports of the Seattle Transit System date from 1940 to 1971. The early reports contain information on changes in public transportation, such as taking out rail cars and replacing them with trolleys or buses. The reports contain statistics on accidents, passengers and financial information as well as information on fare structure, lines, and other issues. The reports during the 1940s are engineering reports from outside companies. In the 1950s, the reports are almost entirely statistical. In the 1960s, the reports contain brief narratives but are primarily statistical.
