Hagen and his wife Maxine were active in The Mountaineers, Seattle. Hagen chaired the Climbing Committee in 1943.

Mountaineers songbook 1922, ski mountaineering and climbing handbook, Mountaineers climbing notebook, writing, newsletters, lists, ephemera, 1934-1953.

Various Mountaineers activities are documented: climbing, ski mountaineering and the summer outings of 1940-1949. A small subgroup is present for the Montanaedus, a mountaineering club which Harry Hagen apparently founded.
