    Scope and Content: Tape-recorded interview conducted by Isabel Stusser on July 9, 1985 with transcript.

    Edythe Weinstein's interview deals primarily with her involvement in the establishment of Council House. She recounts some of her personal history including her upbringing in a quasi-orthodox home by an indulgent father and a strong, career-oriented mother whose interest in Council of Jewish Women encouraged Ms. Weinstein to join later in her life. Ms. Weinstein describes her boarding school experiences, further schooling and subsequent marriage to Dr. Sidney Weinstein in 1938.
