Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Born in Odessa in 1885, Lydia Angel was married, had 3 children, and was living in Crimea before she emigrated from her homeland. Her husband was operating a laundry business at the time and she came to the United States to visit her parents and her brothers and sisters. After staying in New York for 3 months, she followed her parents to Seattle where they had already settled. Her father was in the tailor business and eventually opened his own shop. She and her husband and children also settled in Seattle and her husband was a tailor from then on. Lydia Angel belonged to the Free Loan Society, the Workman's Circle, and to other similar Jewish organizations.
