		  slides, papers, and drawings related to Ruth Kirk's books and films</abstract></did><bioghist encodinganalog="5450_" id="a2"><p>Ruth Eleanor Kirk was born Ruth Eleanor Kratz on May 7, 1925 in Los
		  Angeles, California. She was an author of books on Northwest natural history
		  and ethnography and a photographer. Her husband, Louis Gladwin Kirk Jr.
		  (1921-1992), was a National Parks ranger. After the death of Mr. Kirk in 1992,
		  Ruth moved to Olympia, Washington. She married her friend of 40 years, Dr.
		  Richard D. Daugherty (1922-2014), an archeologist, and moved to Panorama, a
		  retirement community in Lacey, Washington. Together, they combined their
		  knowledge and skills in writing "Archaeology in Washington" which was published
		  in 2007. She was a writer, photographer, and filmmaker on Pacific Northwest
		  natural history and ethnography.</p></bioghist><scopecontent encodinganalog="5202_" id="a3"><p>46 boxes containing slides, photographs; 1 roll containing drawings;
		  related to her books and films. Photographs relate to Ruth Kirk's film and
