The Lewis and Clark Exposition was held in 1905 and the Forestry Building was one of the buildings erected for the fair. It was designed by architect Ion Lewis. The building was described as the world's largest log cabin or the Timber Temple. It was constructed of unhewn logs, the largest of which were 54 feet long and five feet wide. Inside, it contained exhibits of wildlife dioramas and Oregon forest products. The Forestry Building stood until August 17, 1964, when a fire destroyed it.
