      <head>Biographical Note</head>
      <p>Alfred Stratton came west to the Willamette Valley, OR with his parents, Rev. and Mrs. H.W.
        Stratton, in 1870. In 1881 he came to Spokane Falls. He served as assistant postmaster at
        Spokane Falls and Rockford, W.T. Stratton later returned to Spokane and farmed. He was state
        representative form the Fourth District for three terms – 1915, 1917, and 1919.</p>

      <p>The collection is very fragmentary, containing odd bits and pieces of correspondence and
        memorabilia, 1898-1917, and miscellaneous legal documents, 1894-1944.</p>
