    <bioghist encodinganalog="5450_">
      <p>Dorothea Ruth Sauer (1871-1950) was born on January 29, 1871 in Minonk, Illinois, to Rudolph George and Ellen Nancy Long Sauer. Dorothea moved to Utah around 1904, where she first taught school in Woodside, Emery County, Utah and then Salina. Around 1915, she moved to Helper, Utah, where she worked as principal of an elementary school. She moved to Salt Lake City in 1920 and taught at the Sumner and Whittier schools. She passed away on August 10, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah.</p>

      <p>The Dorothea R. Sauer photograph collection contains 1 box with 31 loose black-and-white photographs and one photograph album containing 303 photographs. The images depict portraits, landscapes, and vacation photographs and date from 1908 to approximately the 1940s.</p>
