<p>Roger Kenneth Roche (1938-2008) was born in Pocatello, Idaho on September 3, 1938, and died on April 11, 2008. "Skiing and the ski industry was a large part of Roger's life. Roger learned to ski at an early age. He traveled with his parents to Sun Valley in the 1940s. His love for skiing led him to ski instructing at Skyline Ski Area in Pocatello. He was a member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America and participated in the 1968 Interski Demonstration Team. Roger moved to Sun Valley in 1971. He worked at the Sun Valley Inn, Scott USA and in 1979, Roger and partners started the Reflex ski pole company." He was affiliated with IKetchum and Pebble Creek ski areas, and his daughter, Julie Roche, wrote a book about the history of Pebble Creek.
