Keith Stimely (1957-1992) received his B.S. degree in History from the University of Oregon in 1980. He conducted research into American and European political and intellectual movements of the 1970s and 1980s, promoting revisionist history. From 1981-1984, he served on the editorial staff and as chief editor for the
Journal of Historical Review
, a pseudo-academic journal promoting Holocaust denial published by the Institute for Historical Review. He lived in Portland, Oregon until his death in December 1992.

This collection contains the research files, correspondence, and personal papers of Keith Stimely, documenting neo-fascist, neo-Nazi, racialist, and revisionist history. Stimely, who served on the editorial board and as chief editor of the
Journal of Historical Review
, conducted and promoted research on historical revisionism, particularly of the First and Second World Wars. The bulk of the papers relate to and document Stimely's work promoting Holocaust denial, including his questioning of what he called the "standard views of Hitler and the Third Reich" and his engagement with the works of other Holocaust deniers worldwide, including Paul Rassinier, David Irving, Francis Yockey, and Ditlieb Felderer. Both the published and unpublished material in this collection documents the development of the 1980s revisionist movement, in particular how the movement refined and publicized their views under the guise of academic research and rigor.
