         <p>Sam Ensly was born in Bothell, Washington. He worked as an electrician
		  on board a U.S. Army ship that sailed from Seattle on August 15, 1929.</p>
      </bioghist>
      <scopecontent encodinganalog="5202_" id="a3">
         <p>One volume describing Sam Ensly's daily duties and travel experiences
		  on board a cable ship, circumnavigating the globe. Diary bears the inscription
		  "Around the world on the U.S. Army transport cable ship Dellwood." Entries span
		  August through November 1929, when the cableship was in port at Manila.</p>
