      <abstract>This is a limited collection of the papers of the Rev. Dr. Charles F.
		  Koehler. He was especially noted for his pastoral services at of Knox
		  Presbyterian Church in Spokane, Washington. He served as a trustee for
		  Whitworth College and received an honorary degree from that institution.</abstract>

    <bioghist encodinganalog="5451_">
      <p>Dr. Charles F. Koehler was born on March 21, 1876 in Graben, Germany,
		  and came to the United States in 1881. Following his education at Bellevue
		  College, Omaha, Nebraska, he was ordained in 1895 by Fairbury Presbytery,
		  Nebraska.</p>
      <p>His most notable pastorate was at Knox Presbyterian Church in Spokane,
		  Washington., 1923-1946. He received an honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from
		  Whitworth College and served on its Board of Trustees. Koehler passed away on
		  November 17, 1970.</p>
