      <p>The collection consists of a financial day book for the general merchandise store Koontz &amp; Lame, located in Halsey, Oregon. The book covers transactions that were made in the year 1886. Each page with entries is headed by the name of the customer, and lists the dates of purchases, what was purchased, and the amount paid. Pages between different customers were sometimes left blank.</p>
