  	<head>Biography of Guy H. Woodward</head>
<p>Guy H. Woodward (1889-1979) was an author and attorney who specialized in the oil and gas industry. Guy was born in McAlester, Oklahoma in 1889, and graduated from the University of Oklahoma School of Law in 1920.
He practiced law in Okmulgee, Oklahoma until 1924, when he became chief counsel for Independent Oil and Gas Company. In 1942, Woodward served as the campaign manager for Independent Oil and Gas Company’s founder,
E.H. Moore, and when he won the U.S. Senate seat, followed him to Washington D.C. where he spent ten years serving as special counsel to the Interstate and Foreign Commerce Committee and the Senate Judiciary Committee.
In the 1950s, Woodward served as general counsel for the Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association and was registered as a lobbyist. During that time, Guy was also involved in the fight over price deregulation of natural gas.
In 1973, Woodward and his wife, Grace Steele Woodward published their book <title>The Secret of Sherwood Forest: Oil Production During World War II</title>. Grace, an author, also published three other books, <title>The Man Who Conquered Pain:
              A Biography of William Thomas Green Morton</title>, <title>The Cherokees</title> and <title>Pocahontas</title>.</p>
