The Oregon Agricultural College chapter of
Gamma Sigma Delta (originally called Delta Theta Sigma) was established in
1908; it has been called the first honorary society at the university. These
records document the administration, membership, and activities of this
honorary agricultural society.

Historical Note:
The society, originally called Delta Theta Sigma, was founded at Ohio
State University in 1905. The chapter at Oregon Agricultural College was
established in 1908, and its first members were initiated in 1909. It was
purportedly the first honorary society at the university. The society became
Gamma Sigma Delta in 1913, and in 1917 merged with the Honor Society of
Agriculture.
The Gamma Sigma Delta Records document the administration, membership,
and activities of the Oregon Zeta Chapter of this honorary agricultural
society.
Organized into four series: I. Minutes; II. Treasurer's Book; III.
General Correspondence; and IV. General Subject File. Series I-III are arranged
chronologically; series IV is arranged by subject.
Collection is open for research.
