         <p>Henry (Hans) Kolloen immigrated to the United States from Norway. He migrated west to Seattle, Washington, and joined the gold rush to Dawson, Yukon Territory. He married Inga Sjolseth Kolloen who corresponded with her mother in Oxendal, Norway, and her husband in Dawson, until she joined him there. While in Dawson, she received letters from Dora Husby in Seattle.</p>

         <p>Recollection of Henry Kolloen (in Norwegian and English), incoming letters (in Norwegian) to Inga Sjolseth Kolloen (all are copies), and a photograph.</p>
         <p>Recollection concerns Hans Kolloen's early life in Norway, immigration to America, westward migration ending in Seattle, and goldseeking in Dawson. Letters to Inga Sjolseth Kolloen are from Henry before and after their marriage, from her mother in Oxendal, Norway, and from Dora Husby in Seattle.</p>
