Henry (Hans) Kolloen immigrated to the United States from Norway. He migrated west to Seattle, Washington, and joined the gold rush to Dawson, Yukon Territory. He married Inga Sjolseth Kolloen who corresponded with her mother in Oxendal, Norway, and her husband in Dawson, until she joined him there. While in Dawson, she received letters from Dora Husby in Seattle.
