Adam Bradley was born in 1861 in East Rainton, Durham, England. He died in 1897 in Columbia Falls, Montana.
The collection consists of the facsimile of a single letter sent from Adam Bradley to Enoch Brooks on 24 June 1887. The letter describes Bradley’s homestead ranch in Missoula County, on which he grew potatoes, wheat, oats, and a kitchen garden, and where he lived with his wife, Clara Bradley, and their children. He also mentions his father-in-law, Dan Brion, and his search for a suitable homestead in an area that had become settled quickly.
