         <p>Arthur Siegal was born and raised in Las Vegas, New Mexico, was
		  educated at the University of Denver in Colorado, and came to Seattle in the
		  early 1940s to work at Boeing. He established his own business named Selo
		  Electric, was director of facilities for Group Health Cooperative, and also
		  served as executive director for Temple De Hirsch Sinai. He was also very
		  involved with the Jewish community in Seattle.</p>

      <scopecontent>
         <p>Accession 3865-001: First tape-recorded interview conducted by
		  Leatrice Kraft on 4/17/1987. Original accession also includes a curriculum
		  vitae (1987) and a transcript of a Group Health Oral History interview
		  (1981).</p>
         <p>Siegal discusses his career which encompasses his years at Boeing, the
		  establishment of his own business, Selo Electric, and his years of directorship
		  at Group Health and Temple de Hirsch-Sinai. His involvement in community
		  affairs is far reaching in both the Jewish and Gentile community. He has served
		  on many boards, including Group Health, Temple de Hirsch-Sinai, Jewish
		  Federation, Seattle Community College, Anti-Defamation League and B'nai Brith
		  and many others, both communal and professional. Mr. Siegal comments on changes
		  within these organizations through the years that he was involved.</p>
         <p>Accession 3865-002: Second tape-recorded interview conducted by
		  Stephen F. Adler on 11/22/2000. This addition also includes a personal and a
		  professional and 2 photographs.</p>
         <p>Arthur Siegal discusses the period from his time from his early life
		  in Las Vegas, New Mexico through his move to Seattle and his life in the
		  Washington State Jewish community. The principal topics include Siegal's
		  business activities and his roles in Kline Galland, Temple de Hirsch-Sinai,
		  Jewish Federation, and other organizations. He also talks about his activities
		  in the larger community at Seattle Community College, and the Governor's
		  Affirmative Action Advisory Council.</p>
