		  Marshall. The collection consists of their correspondence, photographs, and

      <head>Biographical Note</head>
      <p>Margaret Regina Hart Owen was born November 25, 1896, in Missoula,
		  Montana, to Ella B. and Charles A. Hart. She attend Sacred Heart Academy,
		  Missoula Business College, and the University of Montana, all in Missoula. She
		  also attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and the
		  University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming. She specialized in plant and
		  biological sciences.</p>
      <p>Margaret Owen was briefly married to a man named Troop. She married
		  William B. Owen on August 30, 1932. They had no children. Owen worked for the
		  U. S. Forest Service in Montana and Minnesota from 1923 to 1932. She served as
		  a secretary to the University of Wyoming Law College dean in 1943 and 1945
		  before working as the assistant to the director of the Institute of Biology and
		  Radiobiology in 1955 and 1958. Owen was active in the Laramie, Wyoming,
		  community in fund-raising, church, and social organizations. She died on April
		  18, 1986.</p>

      <p>This collection includes letters written by Robert Marshall while in
		  Wiseman, Alaska, from September 1930 through April 1931. He sent the lengthy
		  letters to his sister who made copies and sent them on to a designated group of
		  friends and family. In the letters Marshall discussed everything from Alaskan
		  wildlife and wilderness to small community happenings and people he
		  encountered. This collection includes a single letter addressed solely to
		  Margaret Owen, a photo of Owen, a few photographs of Marshall, and a few group
		  photographs from the Priest River Research Station in Idaho. The collections
		  also contains writings and clippings about Robert Marshall and his father,
		  Lewis Marshall, as well as publications by Robert Marshall.</p>

      <p>Series II: Photographs, 1928-1940</p>

      <p>The actions of the original processors are unknown. The collection was
		  reprocessed in 2001. In 2007 the title of the collection was changed from
		  Margaret Owen Papers to Margaret Owen collection on Robert Marshall.</p>

      <p>During processing, two books by Robert Marshall, 
		<title>Arctic Wilderness</title> and
