      <p>Lawrence &amp; Holford was an architectural firm in Portland, Oregon, founded in 1913 by Ellis F. Lawrence (1879-1946) and William G. Holford (1878-1970). The firm was later named Lawrence, Holford, Allyn &amp; Bean, and then named Lawrence, Holford &amp; Allyn.</p>

      <p>The collection consists of blueprints and illustrations of buildings in Portland, Oregon, designed by the architectural firm Lawrence &amp; Holford. Blueprints in the collection are: plans for the residence of Edwin T. Chase on Wisteria Avenue (later 5126 NE Wistaria Drive), including elevations, floor plans, and transverse sections; and plans for alterations to St. Stephen's Pro-Cathedral at SW 13th Avenue and SW Clay Street, including elevations and floor plans. Illustrations in the collection consist of: a sketch of a proposed parish house for St. Paul's Episcopal Church at SE 77th Avenue and SE Carlton Street, delineated by R. O. Marks; and a watercolor elevation of a proposed addition to St. Helen's Hall between SW 13th and 14th Avenues and SW Hall Street.</p>
