      <p>The Willamette Pulp and Paper Company was founded in 1889, establishing a mill at Willamette Falls in West Linn, Oregon. In 1914, the company merged with a neighboring paper maker, Crown-Columbia Paper Company, becoming the Crown-Willamette Pulp and Paper Company. This firm merged with the San Francisco, California-based Crown Zellerbach Corporation in 1937.</p>

These include a letterpress copybook of outgoing correspondence, January-March 1895; a ledger recording the amount of wood cut at the firm's mill, 1891-1903; a financial ledger, 1890-1894; contracts with businesses and individuals, 1891-1906; notices of wage changes, 1907; and financial records such as receipts and invoices, 1904-1909.</p>
