         <p>This collection consists of scientific reports compiled by Edmund Broch and other members of the Washington State University Zoology Department regarding water quality along the Columbia River, as well as reports for the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation regarding water quality of Franklin D. Roosevelt Lake in Okanogan County, Washington.</p>

         <p>Edmund Broch was born in 1928. He served in the Air Force from 1947 to 1950 before receiving his B.S. from Fitchburg State Teacher's College (Fitchburg, MA) and his M.S. in Biology from the University of Michigan. He earned his Ph.D. in 1963 at Cornell University. After a one-year teaching position at Colgate University, Broch moved to Washington State University where he worked in the Zoology Department. Edmund Broch retired from WSU in 1994 and passed away in 2000.</p>

         <p>The materials are arranged in three sections. The first section consists of Edmund Broch's Ph.D. thesis and scientific reports regarding the Columbia River. The second section consists of reports compiled for the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation. The third section contains newspaper clippings regarding water quality of the Columbia River and Franklin D. Roosevelt Lake. Folder contents are arranged in chronological order.</p>
