         <p>Ray Palmer Tracy (1886-1966) was born in West Charleston, Vermont. He spent his early years on a cattle ranch in northern California. He attended Oregon Agricultural College (now Oregon State University), worked as a teamster, ranch hand, and forest ranger. He became an author of western stories and novels. He lived in Condon, Oregon.</p>

         <p>The collection includes manuscripts and biographical material.</p>
         <p>The manuscripts are organized alphabetically by title and are separated into novels and novelettes, short stories, and article sections. Material includes drafts, revised versions, correspondence, and manuscript fragments. </p>
         <p>The biographical material includes an autobiographical series published in 1957, tearsheets, and clippings. </p>
