Godfrey worked at Standard Oil Company of California for 45 years. He was a collector of Signal Tarzan Club memorabilia.

 Scope and Content

This collection contains: materials related to the Signal Oil and Gas Company’s Signal Tarzan Club including advertisements, a membership card, newspaper clippings, and photographs of the Signal Tarzan Club band, comedian Will Mahoney attending the film’s parade, and actor Buster Crabbe at the world premiere of “Tarzan the Fearless,” a 12 chapter film serial starring Crabbe as Tarzan; and an issue of the Signal News Dealer, a periodical published by Signal Oil and Gas Company (1933).
