		  for many years as boat builders, coaches, and crew</abstract></did><bioghist encodinganalog="5450_" id="a2"><p>Stanley Richard Pocock (1923-2014) was a well-known figure in the
		  Pacific Northwest rowing community. He worked at the University of Washington
		  as an oarsman and with his father, George, as a boatbuilding apprentice. Later
		  in his career, Pocock coached eight crews for Olympic men's rowing (1956-1964)
		  and provided record-breaking results including four gold medals and two bronze
		  medals. He also coached locally, serving as the University of Washington
