         <p>Nils Hogner (1893-1969) was born in Whiteville, Massachusetts, and educated at schools and academies of art in the United States and abroad. He was a muralist and book illustrator, specializing in the illustration of nature books.</p>  
      </bioghist>

         <p>The collection contains correspondence, original illustrations, manuscripts by Hogner and Dorothy Childs Hogner and others.</p>
         <p>The correspondence contains letters from Alfred A. Knopf, Inc, 1963.</p>
         <p>The illustrated manuscripts by Hogner, Dorothy Childs Hogner and others are organized by work and include drafts, proofs, galleys, sketch books, and final drafts. </p>
         <p>The 1973 addendum contains incoming and outgoing correspondence and illustrated manuscripts by Hogner and Dorthy Childs Hogner.</p>
