      <p>Small collection of copies of documents by and relating to George Vancouver and the expedition he commanded from 1791-1975. The documents include a photostat copy of entries, dated 1792-1793, from a manuscript journal of Thomas Manby, an officer who served with Vancouver; a photocopy of an undated letter from Evan Nepean, regarding Vancouver as the choice for expedition commander; a photocopy of an undated manuscript essay by Vancouver, "Some Reflections upon the Bread Fruit of the South Sea Island and upon a Method for Bringing it to Jamaica"; a photocopy of a 1794 report by Vancouver, regarding the price of gunner stores on the sloop Discovery; and photocopies of papers relating to the controversy between Thomas Pitt (Lord Camelford) and Vancouver, 1795-1798, with inventory. The collection also includes microfilmed documents, which consist of ships' logs, 1791-1795, and letters, lists, and similar material.</p>
