				examples of Islamic calligraphy and book arts. Most are undated but probably date to
				the nineteenth century.</abstract>

			<p>This collection contains miscellaneous manuscripts collected primarily as examples of
				Islamic calligraphy and book arts. Available is a Qur'an dated 1170 Hijri (1756 CE),
				bearing the seal of Mughal emperor Shah Alam; a Mughal dua manuscript (19th
				century); a Mughal juz manuscript in bihari script; a juz manuscript in Kufic
				script; two pairs of illuminated leaves from Persian or Ottoman Qur’ans; three
				Persian miniatures from unidentified manuscripts, including one on blue paper; a
				page from a lithographically printed book with an illumination depicting Noah’s Ark;
				a Qur’an scroll containing the 99 Names of God and text in gubari script (an example
				of micrography); a panel containing a calligram of the Kaaba and Masjid al-Haram
				(Great Mosque of Mecca), dated 1315 Hijri (1898 CE); and a panel containing the 99
				Names of God and a depiction of the Kaaba.</p>
