<bioghist encodinganalog="5450">
Biographical Note

Dorothy "Dorotha" Estella Rector was born June 1903 in Cascade, Montana. She attended Great Falls Public Schools prior to attending the State University of Montana in Missoula (now known as the University of Montana.) She attended college from 1921 to 1925, with a brief year at the University of Minnesota in 1922. She received her Bachelors of Arts, paired with a teaching certificate, from the University of Montana in 1925. While at the Missoula campus, she was actively involved in Alpha Phi Sorority, Glee Club, and Rotary. She was an avid dancer and performed at many productions both on and off campus. Following her time at the college, not much is known about her life. In 1940, she lived in Panama Canal Zone in Panama, to be with her married sister, and obtained work as a secretary for a mining camp. She returned to Cascade, Montana after two years, and lived there until her death in 1983.
