Sean McNabb began working on the University of Utah football coaching staff in 1977. He coached running backs (1877-1984 and 1992-2000), special teams, and tight ends (1985-1991). Over the course of his career, McNabb worked with four head coaches. He resigned in 2000 after a 24-year career at the University of Utah.

Collection is arranged in two series: the original donation, which starts with University of Utah Utes games and plays, and ends with other college teams games used for reference and learning by the coach staff. The second series is the 2021 addendum, organized chronologically with Utes football games and specific plays.

Audio-visual materials can be fragile and require specialized equipment to play back. The Sean McNabb audio-visual collection (1977-2000) consists of VHS tape recordings of the Utah Utes football games, specific play calls, and other college team games that the Utes went against. Most of the plays are related to Special Teams and kicking, but there are also full games in the collection.
