He was the president of Inman-Poulsen Lumber Company and the Portland Chamber of Commerce, and served on the Oregon State Highway Commission from 1923 to 1931. Collection includes personal, family, and business correspondence; scrapbooks and memorabilia regarding Duzer's activities with the U.S. Fir Production Board, the Chamber of Commerce, the Democratic Party, and the highway commission; and minutes, financial reports, and contracts of the Inman-Poulsen Lumber Company. English

Henry Brooks Van Duzer was born in New York in 1874 and came to Oregon in 1898, having studied civil engineering at Union College. He was the president of Inman-Poulsen Lumber Company and the Portland Chamber of Commerce. In 1923, he became a member of the Oregon State Highway Commission. He resigned from the commission in 1931 after four years as chairman.

Papers in the Henry Brooks Van Duzer collection include personal, family, and business correspondence, 1863-1950; scrapbooks and memorabilia regarding Duzer's activities with the U.S. Fir Production Board, the Portland Chamber of Commerce, the Democratic Party, and the Oregon Highway Commission; minutes, financial reports, and contracts, 1930-1951, of the Inman-Poulsen Lumber Company; scripts and stage set illustrations for plays; certificates; and ephemera.
