Israel C. Russell (1852-1906) was an American geologist. Among other positions, Russell was a professor of Geology at the University of Michigan, worked for the United States Geological Survey, and was president of the Geological Society of America at the time of his death.

The Israel C. Russell Photographs include nearly 200 photos of geological landscapes in Idaho, Oregon, California, Wyoming, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado.
