      <p>Albert C. Allen was an army officer from Salt Lake City, Utah, who served in the Philippines during the Spanish-American War.</p>

      <p>The Albert C. Allen scrapbook and correspondence (1890s-1901) concern Allen, his family, and his military career. The scrapbook is a green embossed period piece and contains news clippings, photographs, memorabilia, and woodblocks. The woodblocks were created by Allen to illustrate stories written by him. The correspondence consists of four military letters.</p>
