      <p>The collection contains physical and electronic records related to Peavey's eighteen years of weekly radio essays written for Boise State Public Radio (KBSU) from 1992-2009. Specifically, the collection contains hard copy reading files with edits of the stories, a thumb drive with unedited first drafts of the stories, 43 CD-Rs with recordings, 4 DVD-Rs, and audio files received from Erik Jones of KBSU.</p>

    <bioghist encodinganalog="545">
      <p>Diane Josephy Peavey is a writer of life in the American West. Starting in 1992, Peavey began writing and recording weekly radio essays for Boise State Public Radio (KBSU) and continued until 2009. Peavey published a collection of these stories as <title renderend="italic">Bitterbrush Country: Living on the Edge of the Land</title> (Fulcurm, 2001). Josephy married Idaho rancher and state politician, John Peavey, in 1982. Since then, she has lived on the Flat Top Sheep Co. ranch north of Carey, Idaho. She has worked as the Director of the Idaho Rural Council, the Literature Director for the Idaho Commission on the Arts, and is the founder and organizer of the annual Trailing of the Sheep Festival in Ketchum, Idaho.</p>
