		  materials for writings on medical history in the Pacific Northwest</abstract></did><bioghist encodinganalog="5450_" id="a2"><p>Nancy Moore Rockafellar (b. 1947) was a scholar of history of science,
		  medicine, and public health. Rockafellar originally trained in medical
		  technology at the University of Minnesota and worked as a clinical laboratory
		  technologist for ten years. In 1986 she earned a master’s degree in biomedical
		  history at the University of Washington School of Medicine and received a Ph.D.
		  from the Department of History at the University of Washington in 1990. Her
		  research and writing focused on regional history relating to the history of
		  medicine and public health. Nancy was the Washington State Medical Association
		  (WSMA) Centennial History Project historian, supporting the Washington State
		  Centennial, in 1989. Rockafellar later served as a historian with the Oral
		  History Program, Department of History and Health Sciences, at the University
