Carl Blaurock was a Colorado-based mountaineer. In 1924, he undertook a climbing expedition in the Wind River Mountains and Teton Mountains of Wyoming. His companions on the trip were Mr. and Mrs. Herman Buhl and Albert Ellingwood.
The collection contains photographs and negatives of Carl Blaurock’s August 1924 climbing expedition in the Wind River Mountains and Teton Mountains of Wyoming. Also included is a diary kept during the trip, along with a transcript created by Carl Blaurock. In addition, there are two articles by Blaurock.
There are no access restrictions on the materials for research purposes, and the collection is open to the public.

This material was received from Carl Blaurock in 1980 and 1991.
The collection was processed by D. Claudia Thompson in August 2015. There are more negatives than prints. Blaurock selected a group of images representative of the entire August 1924 expedition in both the Wind Rivers and Tetons, but he took many other negatives that were not developed into prints.
