      <p>Frank Newton English (1851-1931) was married to Mary Louise English (1845-1930). He was the proprietor of Colfax College, sometimes identified as English's Collegiate Academy, located in Colfax, Washington. </p>

      <p>This collection consists of one bound volume, a school register of pupils attending Colfax College in Colfax, Washington between 1890-1895 and 1899-1900. The register contains attendance records and notes explaining students' absences and dates of registry. Also includes newspaper clippings, receipts, and other papers, as well as a partial catalog of the college's Pioneer Library. The catalog is both handwritten and typed, and arranged by shelf and book number.</p>
