    <bioghist encodinganalog="5450_">
      <p>Henry Miller Xavier (1882-1959) was born in Franklin, Minnesota and moved to the Alaskan Territory in 1901, where he remained a resident for the rest of his life. He was a cartoonist for the <title>Nome Golden Nugget</title>, illustrating local people and animals hunting, fishing, and sledding. He was also a gold prospector and mined in the Nome and Kotzbue areas and owned a claim in Gold Run Creek. He served as a U.S. Marshall in Nome and Kotzbue and as Lieutenant for the Alaska Territorial Guard.</p>
