Olderman (b. 1922), a sportswriter and illustrator, joined the Newspaper Enterprise Association in 1952 and retired as an editor in 1987. He was involved in establishment of several professional sports awards and wrote scripts for the ABC radio feature "Chris Schenkel on Sports" in the late 1960s. Olderman wrote and illustrated several books on professional football, baseball, basketball and tennis.
Collection contains correspondence (1947-1987); manuscripts of books and articles; research files of correspondence, notes, newspaper and magazine clippings, photographs, and press releases; pen and pencil cartoons and illustrations; files related to various sports awards; scripts, correspondence, lists, and agreements related to the "Chris Schenkel on Sports" radio program; books by Olderman; personal and professional financial records; legal files containing contracts, agreements, notes, and correspondence; and survey files including questionnaires, forms, and statistical data.
