American Heritage Center. English Typescript masters thesis on photographic reoccupation of Sand Creek area to study geomorphic and vegetative change from 1897 to 1989. Scope and Content

Masters thesis study of geologic sites first photographed by Wilbur C. Knight, 1897-1902, then repeated by John D. Sharsmith, 1989, to document landscape changes at the various sites. Vegetative changes occurred, most often, at twice the rate of geomorphic and considered independent of geomorphic change.

Thesis manuscript contains chapter discussions on the nature of landscape photography, rephotographic process, geology, plant life and climate of Sand Creek area; an explanation, analysis and significance of the study; forty-seven matched pair photographs; eleven sites photo documented for possible change; photo negatives and site maps.
