		  Japanese-American families, including various friends and family, in Japan and
		  Seattle, Washington</abstract></did><bioghist encodinganalog="5450_" id="a2"><p>Tatsuya Arai (1864-1922) was a Japanese immigrant who became a
		  prominent Seattle-area businessman, banker, and Japanese community leader. He
		  led Japanese involvement during the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition, building
		  "Streets of Tokio" with two other businessmen. His son, Clarence Arai
		  (1901-1963) was a lawyer and activist with the Japanese American Citizens
		  League, along with his wife, Yone (1906-2004).</p><p>. Other members of the Arai family include Tatusya's wife Kan Asaoka
		  Arai (1880-1956), and the rest of their children: Thomas (1902-1966), Catherine
		  (1904-1919), Arthur (1907-1929), Lillian (1912-2010), and Kathleen (b.
		  1922?).</p><p>Thomas Ogawa (1907-1991) was a Canadian-Japanese merchant, and husband
		  to Lillian Arai. He was briefly an FBI informant concerning Japanese business
		  interests in America. The Arai and Ogawa families were interned in the Minidoka
		  Japanese Internment Camp. </p></bioghist><scopecontent><p>Photographs spanning multiple generations of the members of the Arai
		  and Ogawa families including Tatsuya Arai, Kan Asaoka, Lillian and Katherine
		  Arai, Tom Arai and family, Tom Ogawa and family; also includes activities of
