Gary Charles Nate, a skier and longtime cameraman for Warren Miller Films, was born in Ogden, Utah on June 8, 1937. After a high school football career at Ogden High School, he went on to play running back for the University of Utah. After an injury derailed his scholarship funds, Gary worked for the railroad, as a recruiter for Hill Air Force Base, and as a school teacher.

In 1973, while promoting his first ski film, he reached out to Warren Miller with an offer to work as a camera man, who in turn hired Nate. During his 40-year career with Warren Miller Films, Gary documented the evolution of the ski and snowboard industry and filmed many skiers around the world.

Nate passed away on February 15, 2024, in Ogden, Utah.
