John "Jack" Francis Hayden was born on April 27, 1910 to Lester C. and Alzina R. Hayden. As a youth he attended the country school of Rocky Point, Washington. Then when he was just ten years old he and his family moved to Genesee, Idaho where he attended and graduated high school. In 1929 Jack enrolled at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho, and during his college career he worked for the Kenworthy Theatre in Moscow. Jack finished his degree in Business and Accounting in 1935.

A few years later in 1938, he was able to set up an accounting office in the Urquhart Building in downtown Moscow. This lasted until 1942 when Jack joined the United States Navy. One of his earliest duty stations was in Bremerton, Washington. He served in both France and England in the Navy supply service. A Lieutenant Commander, he was honorably discharged in 1945. After his time in the military, Jack came back to Moscow and returned to his accounting business. In fact he was auditor for the University of Idaho's ASUI Funds for the 1946/1947 year. In 1951 he partnered with Pat Ross, forming the accounting firm "Hayden and Ross." He later retired in 1985.

Jack was an avid campus participant as well as one in the community. He was a member of Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Bodies and the Shrine, Moscow Elks, Rotary Club (president), America Institute of CPAs, Idaho Society of CPAs (director of association in Moscow), American Legion, Veteran of Foreign Wars, Secretary-treasurer of Moscow Hospital association. He died April 21, 2004 in Moscow.

Mildred Grace King (Hayden) was born on June 28, 1910 to John U. and Bertha V. King in Moscow, Idaho. Mildred spent her childhood in Moscow, attended elementary school and high school during her youth. She also attended the University of Idaho and worked with Jack in the Kenworthy Theatre as well as the NuArt Theatre. Mildred graduated the university with a degree in Education in 1932. Three years later, she and Jack were married.

When Jack opened his accounting office in 1938, she joined him and worked for the firm until Jack joined the Navy. She moved with him as he became stationed state-side, eventually landing in Virginia while he served in Europe. Mildred was very active during her time spent at university, and spent time working within the Moscow community. She was part of Mokepahreca Club, the Order of Eastern Star, the Daughters of the Nile, and was a Red Cross Member since 1945. Mildred died March 26, 1999 in Spokane, Washington.
