School of Environmental and Forest Sciences, was born in 1941 in Deer Park,
California. After several years of working as an inventory specialist for
Rockport Redwood Company, Lee entered the Yale School of Forestry in 1967.
After receiving his Master's degree from Yale, Lee began his doctoral studies
at UC Berkeley while also holding an appointment as a Research Sociologist for
the U.S. National Park Service. Lee would continue to the University of
Washington in 1978, where he was a Professor of Forest Resources (Sociology of
Natural Resources) until 2007.</p><p>Lee's research was animated by a commitment to help "humanize"
forestry. He blended studies in philosophy, ecology, sociology, and human
behavior to address questions of natural resource management and its effect on
communities. At the University of Washington, Lee researched, among other
topics, how rural forest-based communities depend on the use and management of
forest lands, and how ecological processes are institutionalized to meet human
		  objectives. (Source: Donor Provided Biography) </p></bioghist><arrangement><p>Arranged in 11 series.</p><p><list type="simple"><item>Series 1, Personal Records</item><item>Series 2, Social-Cultural Impacts of Spotted Owl
