		  business</abstract></did><bioghist encodinganalog="5450_" id="a2" altrender="sync"><p>The Schoenfeld family arrived in Seattle in 1888. Herbert A.
		  Schoenfeld (1874-1933) and Ralph Schoenfeld were the owners of Schoenfeld's
		  Furniture in downtown Tacoma, which operated until 1996. The business first
		  opened in 1888 as Standard Furniture Co. in Seattle. They were also active in
		  retail trade and furniture associations. Herbert was active in philanthropic
		  organizations in the Jewish community, and he opposed "radical" elements in the

				its move to Bellevue in the 1950s, and its general history as a golf course and
