Nazakat Ali Khan (1928-1984) and Salamat Ali Khan (1934-2001) were the sons of dhrupad singer Vilayat Ali Khan, who represented the gharana at the turn of the 20th century. They had their debut performance on All India Radio, Delhi in 1942. The family moved to Pakistan in 1947 following the Partition of British India and became some of the leading performers of classical music in the country.
